Best Snorkeling Fins DEALS
You don’t need too much for a snorkeling expedition. At the very top of the list of things that you need, however, is one of the best snorkeling fins.
After all, they are what help to propel you through the water as you take in that beautiful underwater kingdom.
Now, I remember the first time that I had to strap on a pair of fins. It was certainly not the most comfortable experience and took a lot of getting used to. What I later realized, however, was that getting a quality pair of fins was the most important things. Not only do they fit a lot better, they also move more fluidly when you are underwater.
So let’s take a look at some of the ones that you may want to try out for yourself:
Best Snorkeling Fins
1. Cressi Agua Short
Features
- The Agua Short is the shorter version of the Agua long blade fin designed for snorkeler travelers, swimming and for training.
- Made using very lightweight material but at the same time ensures good reactivity. A truly light fin that is an excellent performance without tiring your feet.
- The foot pocket is made using the last technology, called Self Adjusting Foot Pocket System, which ensure a perfect fit to different shapes of foot.
- The Agua is a very easy fin to use, doesn't require special athletic or water sport abilities.
- The Agua Short is designed and manufactured in Italy by Cressi, an Italian brand pioneer in scuba diving, snorkeling and swimming equipment since 1946.
I would have to say that the Cressi Agua Short Fins are by far my favorite fins to take on a trip.
Being shorter than the average fins, they are certainly a breeze to pack as they do not take up a lot of space in your bag or suitcase. I have also found that this shorter length comes in handy when I want to tour around coral reefs. The longer fins tend to make contact with these sensitive reefs more than I would like.
With the shorter fins, I have a greater amount of control over them. I also like how comfortable these fins feel on my feet. There is absolutely no stress on my ankles as I kick out at all.
They are quite flexible too. Not that is the most important feature of fins, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that I was able to walk on land more easily than with other fins.
There is a downside to fins that are shorter, however. They tend to require a little bit of more effort. As a result, you may feel quite tired out and unable to snorkel for too long. Therefore, I would not recommend them for long snorkeling trips.
Now, I found that these fins fit me like a glove and they do come in a variety of women’s and men’s sizes. At no point did I feel as though the fins were going to slip off my feet.
That being said, I have heard of people with larger feet having difficulty finding the right fit for them.

If you are looking for short fins with a little bit more flair then I would suggest ANGGO short dive fins. Not only do you get them in a variety of bright colors, they also boast a much sleeker design.
As with all short fins, one of the main advantages of these ANGGO fins is the size. They are incredibly compact which makes it easy to pack these up and take them with you on vacation.
If I had to narrow down who these type of fins were ideal for, I would say beginners for a couple of reasons.
First off, these are really easy to slip on and slip off. They fit really well too and are quite comfortable which is important for those who may not be used to the feel of fins just yet. Also, newbies will find it easier to walk around in the water while wearing the fins and not fall over. The dual composite blade does add a lot of power as you swim.
That being said, donning any pair of short fins is going to require you to expend more energy than with traditional fins.
Nonetheless, you can be assured that your ankles are going to get a lot of support as the fins are quite flexible under water. You also get a bunch of accessories with these fins. You get two pads so that you can make sure the fins aren’t being bent out of shape while you are not using them. Then, there is a convenient mesh bag that you can use to carry your fins around with you.

Perhaps what I like most about the Cressi Palau Fins are their versatility. Whether you want to use them in a swimming pool or at the beach, these fins work equally well.
These fins also help to overcome the fatigue that typically results from short fins a little bit. While they still don’t offer up as much thrust or power as traditional fins, the difference is noticeable when compared to other short fins. The design of these fins means that while your muscles are getting a good workout, you aren’t going to get tired as easily.
It is also good for people who have only just started using swim fins. This pair of fins is quite comfortable which makes them less jarring to wear for those who are unaccustomed. Now one of the many problems regarding fins is the sizing.
These fins are actually quite good for people whose feet are a little wider. Due to the reversible strap, however, these fins are capable of fitting a variety of people. Even if you can’t get your perfect size, it is nothing that a pair of fin socks can’t fix.
Cressi has also been nice enough to throw in a mesh bag which you can use to carry your fins around in.
There are some nice color combinations to choose from so you can opt for more somber colors or select something a little flashier.
Specs:
- Well-designed blade
- Soft foot section
- Works well for both pool and beach
4. Cressi Palau Adjustable Snorkeling Fins
Cressi Palau Adjustable Snorkeling Fins

- Long lightweight and responsive blade. Easy-kicking blade responds well to any kicking style.

- Fins stays in place against your foot despite the increase in hydro static pressure.
- The fin pocket is made from a soft elastomer for added comfort.
The Cressi Palau long fins embody the term, ‘one size fits all’.
This is Cressi’s first attempt at creating a heel on a snorkeling fin and I have to say that it has been a great success. As you know, getting the right fit for your fins is imperative. Unfortunately, it can be an absolute nightmare to find one that suits your particular feet size perfectly. With the Palau long fins, however, the back is open and surrounded by an adjustable strap. This means that regardless of how long your feet are, you will be able to wear the fins.
Not to mention, you can also share one set of fins with a large number of people.
Personally, what I feel is a standout feature for the Palau long fin is that it manages to be lightweight, flexible, and compact despite being a long fin. This gives you a great deal more control while you are swimming and lessens that feeling of being dragged down. Underwater, these fins perform beautifully, they allow for just the right amount of thrust.
This has you propelling along quite comfortably without you needing to make too much of an effort. This probably has to do with the fact that Cressi has used the same concept as their scuba fins. This results in a fin that moves a lot more ergonomically.
I would certainly recommend these pair of fins for snorkeling trips that may last a little longer.

- Three material molding and ergonomic blade

- ● U.S. & WORLDWIDE. Providing a means to breathe underwater, Aqua Lung is amplifying adventures in 60+ countries. At the forefront of modern diving equipment since 1943, all efforts go towards making the underwater world a groundbreaking discovery.
There is no denying that U.S. Divers know what they are doing when it comes to snorkeling gear. Which is which I was inclined to trust them and purchase the U.S. Divers Proflex FX fins.
That, and the two years warranty really didn’t hurt either.
Not that it is the most important detail, but what really stands out about these fins is the fact that look really cool. They come in a variety of colors but the overall design of these fins is much sleeker and appears more streamlined.
These fins are not just for show, however, and are quite performance oriented too. Once you are swimming, one of the first things that you will notice is that there is a great deal of snap and thrust associated with these fins. This makes moving from place to place underwater an absolute dream.
Due to the length of the blade, I also didn’t have to put too much effort into swimming. I was simply propelled along with just a few energetic kicks. One of the main concerns with these fins are the sizing. While there is a selection, the foot pocket is quite small. As a result, it may not fit everyone.
Despite the warranty, these fins are not really meant to last all that long. If you are planning on making use of them quite a lot, you may find that you need to replace them quite often. Apart from this, it is a really good set of fins.

- Consists of dual composite material

6. U.S. Divers Aqua Lung Wave Snorkeling Fin
U.S. Divers Aqua Lung Wave Snorkeling Swim Fin
Features
- Compact length is great for travel
- Quad flex rail system channels water and provides excellent snap
- Soft, flexible foot pocket for great comfort
- Adjustable foot strap to fine Tune fit
- 2 year limited warranty
Although not quite short fins, the U.S. Divers Aqua Lung Wave fins are still quite compact, nonetheless.
This is partly what makes them a great option for those who want fins that they can travel with.
The blade portion of these fins are quite different what you may be used to seeing. Instead of an elongated design, this one has a more bulbous and shorter blade. This design, the quad flex rail system, has been created for a specific reason. It channels the surrounding water, and provides a great snap. This means that swimming with these is made a lot easier. The motion through the water is also a great deal more fluid as a result. At the same time, the atypical design is best suited to leisurely snorkeling but is great for going on holiday.
Now, the sizing on these fins can seem a little restrictive – small/medium and medium/large. However, the back of the fin ends in an adjustable strap. Due to this, you will actually find that it fits a variety of feet sizes. The foot pocket also offers up a comfortable fit and is quite flexible in terms of feet sizes as well. It should be noted that these fins are a bit pricier than the others on the list. They are quite well built, however, and have used quality materials so they should last you for a while.
If not, there is a two- year limited warranty attached to it.

One of the features, the extended sole plate, helps to take away some of the exertion. This means that you get a greater amount of thrust but you don’t have to worry about spraining your ankle in the process.
The other factor is the high-grade propylene that the fin is made from. This improves the efficiency with energy is transferred while kicking. This does come with a bit of a disadvantage, however.
On one hand, this does make the fins quite excellent for snorkeling. If you are trying to get squeeze some speed out of it while you are swimming, nonetheless, you may have to look elsewhere. However, unless you are looking for a pair of fins that can do them all, the Phantom Aquatics is great for snorkeling.
One of the perks of these fins are the adjustable straps behind the heel. Because of these, you are going to find it a whole lot easier to make sure that the sizes available fit.

Types of Snorkeling Fins
There are different types of snorkeling fins. It can be quite difficult to classify them under a set number of labels as they tend to typically differ in terms of design. Let’s take what some of these variances are:
To start off with, you have the closed fin which is also known as a full foot fin. These are so named as they are the fins that have an area that is much like a shoe. This is where you place your foot and it is held in place by the material that gathers near your ankle. Then you have the open design.
Here, instead of the foot pocket, the back portion – where your heel is – is open. There is an adjustable strap instead to make sure that the fin stays on your feet. The straps come with different buckles that have either allow for quick release or quick adjustments.
Another easy way to discern between snorkeling fins is the blade area. There are paddle fins and split fins. Paddle fins are when the blade is whole. You can still find them with a variety of designs, however, such as ribs, rails, channels, vents, and more.
Split fins, as the name suggests, are blades that are split down the middle. As such, the two parts of the blade move independent of one another. Paddle fins do tend to be a more popular choice, however, especially among recreational snorkelers.
The final way in which you can divide the fins is regarding size. The traditional fins are quite long, especially at the blade which also tends to be narrower. Short fins, which are also known as travel fins, are becoming quite popular as well, nonetheless. These are a great deal more compact and have shorter blades.
How to Choose A Good Snorkeling Fin for You
In most instances, the type of snorkeling fins that you choose are a matter of choice. You need to decide on the one that you are most comfortable with and suits your type of activity best. Nonetheless, here are a few things that you should know.
If you are trying to decide between the open and closed fin design, it can come down to two main things. The first is the temperature of the water that you are swimming in. If you are swimming in colder waters, it is usually best to go for the open design. This is because these fins allow you to wear booties on your feet while swimming, which you will need to keep you insulated.
If you are swimming in warm or tropical waters, you will find that the closed design works well as you will not need to wear booties with them. The other thing to consider when choosing between these two is size.
The only limitation with closed design fins is that it can be difficult to find a size that is perfect for you. With the open design, you have the option of making adjustments as necessary. This means that it is better for fitting people with feet in those in-between sizes.
Now, there is a reason that most people tend to choose paddle fins over split fins. Split fins are great if you are going to be spending a lot of time in the water. When thinking long term, it will help you to be more efficient. Paddle fins have the upper hand when it comes to control as well as maneuverability. Also, with paddle fins, you can kick however you like. The split fins demand a more specific form of kicking.
As mentioned, you now have travel fins as well. For people who have to travel to holiday destinations or snorkel spots, these fins come in quite handy. They also work as well as the longer, more traditional fins.
That being said, you should be aware that the smaller fins require you to kick a little harder if you are to swim at the same pace. Therefore, you may find yourself getting tired quite quickly. The shorter fins can feel more natural than the longer ones, however, and easier to wear as a result.
The other thing that you should keep in mind when buying fins is the lightness. The more lightweight the fins, the better. As you typically don’t have to fight against currents while snorkeling on the surface, you will find the light ones more useful.
All of this information should help you find the snorkeling fins that are just right for you. A good place to start is the list of the fins that you can find right here!
Bottom Line
With the variety of snorkeling fins available, it can seem like an easy task finding your right pair. But, the process takes more than just the style you prefer. Various factors play a role in selecting the most appropriate pair.
One of the features you should consider is the size of fins you intend to buy. The right size matches up to your actual shoe size. Some snorkel fins come in single sizes suit different shoe sizes. Therefore, it is essential to check for the size provision to ensure what you get fits.
If you intend to carry your fins around for vacations and adventure away from home, then it is essential to find a pair you can easily take. There are plenty of designs that work for travel, but you should ensure the right ones are lightweight and compact. Flexible fins allow easy packing in tight spaces and work well for trips.
The design of the foot pocket also plays a significant role in finding the right pair. The bottom line is choosing fins with soft material for the foot pocket to ensure you are comfortable all through. Also, open-heel designs and full-foot designs are available and work according to your preference and needs.
With consideration of the above factors, it is essential to consider the adjustability of your fins. You want a pair you can customize a comfortable fit and secure easily for a seamless experience underwater. Most importantly, you should consider the overall durability of the fins.
